The Stubbies

This year marks forty years since the inaugural Stubbies Classic Surfing competition. Held at iconic Burleigh Heads in March 1977 it was the start of Australian professional surfing. To mark the occasion Surf World Gold Coast hosted the launch of the Stubbies exhibition.

The night was a blast and as always when anyone attends these nights, there was a lot of the catch phrase! I know your face, but what’s your name!

It was a gathering a friendly faces and getting to know new friends, all with one common goal. To help Surf World, preserve our surfing history. And what is more iconic to the Gold Coast than the Stubbies?
