Dick Hoole is an Australian surfing icon and has been supplying us with still shots, water photography, and cinematic mastery along with his good mate Jack McCoy for over 50 years.

Dick would have to be one of the nicest guys in surfing history and has never shied away from helping others with their photography or anything surfing. Dick has spent his entire life in the surfing industry and deserved his award from Prime Minister John Howard.

I remember Dick saying he and Jack watched Mexican Sumpter filming his movie, On Any Morning and saying to each other, we could do that, and so it all began.

Dick, Jack, and Mex all went on to bring us so many surf flicks and photography traveling the world and showing us there was a plethora of exotic surf breaks just waiting to be explored. They also stayed great mates for 50 years or so and make a great addition to any social engagement with their stories and knowledge of all things surfing.

This page and all of the photos are graciously shared with us by Dick and his mate Greg Huglin who has assisted Dick with digitizing thousands of slides and these are the results.
