Ronny Silcock Surf Art
Sadly Ronny Passed Away July 2019.
RIP Ronny Silcock.
Ronny is a long-time member of the surfing community. He now resides in Qld and spends his time creating these amazing images which are all acrylic on canvas. As I don’t take commissions, I would ask that you contact Ronny personally to purchase anything you see on this site. Below is Ronny’s impressive credentials, which I consider qualifies him as a surfing legend. As with most of these guys they put in 100% into anything they love.
67 years old grew up at Bondi where I went to school with Kevin Brennan and Chris Brock Kevin got me surfing when he loaned me his hollow waterlogged board one afternoon at South Bondi when I was 10. That Xmas Santa Santa gave me my first board a Gordon Woods 8′ 6″ colored tangerine with black flecks.
I was invited to join the WindanSea surf club as a foundation member in 1964 I was asked to look for potential members who were good surfers. Every weekend I would trek either north to the central coast or to the south coast meeting and befriending so many nice people that I am still friends with today.
I moved to the Gold Coast in 1978 and have been a member of 3 longboard clubs Narrowneck , Gold Coast Malibu Club and the Currumbin Longboard Club I have been the club champion at all three clubs.
8 times club champion
5 times Gold Coast age division champ
4 times State age champ
3 x 2nds Australian age champ
2 Malfunction age champ
2 Alex age champ
Logger Head old mal champ
Evand Head age champ
My favorite wave is my home break at Snapper Rocks
Lol and probably a lot more most of my placing trophies I hang it my poinciana tree where they rot away they look cool for a while.
