This all started with a  feel-good moment in surfing history.

I owned a surf shop in a small town on the NSW south coast called Manyana Surf & Sail and a young surfer in our small community caught my eye. Mark Roughly was an absolute mind-blower every time he hit the water but who is going to see him as he really wasn’t competitive? He blitzed the local competitions but that was as far as Mark wanted to go. I spoke to Paul Miller from Billabong as that was the only brand he would wear. To my surprise, Paul put me on to Vince Lawder, and the talented kid from nowhere was sponsored by Billabong just to see where he would go. Every year Mark would receive a package from Billabong and then Mark began to travel and get noticed all over the world, he was always faithful to Billabong and was the longest-running sponsored surfer ever from the South Coastan absolute legend of a brand ambassador.

Recently I had a heart attack and a stroke and Mark came to see me and I thought it would be amazing to get Vince Lawder, Gordon Merchant together with Mark. Very Graciously Gordon accepted this request and we all met at Vikings Surf Club and had a great afternoon chatting and laughing and reminiscing about our surfing history. Gordon told me about his collection and kindly gave me permission to add this collection to my website.

All I can say is thank you, but it is so good to see this amazing boardroom is a highlight. As you can see the boards in ths collection are just amazing, I really have no words to describe the quality of these boards I really just stood in awe while taking these photos, just amazing!
