Cheyne Horan's Board Show 2024
Cheyne gathered as many of his vintage boards together and talked us all through the eras and the evolution each shape, and what each one revolutionised at the time. Very interesting and a unique insight from the master himself! The influence of Geoff McCoy was everywhere, but so also that of Wayne Lynch, Terry Fitzgerald.
Another show went on without many knowing the artist involved. He was a better than average surfer, a better than average soccer player and an exceptional artist. The McCoy’s were always a step above everyone else due to artwork by Richard “Snow” Mollard
The newer boards on display created a lot of discussion and the overall consensus was the new boards are as always different from the average but extremely functional. If we all rode the same boards and never tried to experiment it would be boring and we would never have moved forward as far as we have except for the old hands experimenting and trying something different sometimes exceptionally different, and other times not so exceptional, but even the ones that didn’t work it at least was an attempt that stayed on the drawing room floor!
