“Nigel along with a few mates decided to make surfboards in the 1970’s, the first brand was Fat Angel surfboards, and the white one is the only known example. This was one of the more sedate boards as Nigel and Tiki another talented board builder, made some of the most out there and radical boards of the day. These guys pushed the boundaries of surfboard design, with 4′” concaves, flex tails, rolled decks. Amazing innovations. This era was just the most amazing era to live through as there were no limits to what was acceptable, as everything was new and without these craftsmen, we may never have found the boards we ride today. Many thanks to Vanessa, Nigel’s daughter for the images.
