Trevor’s collection is of those classic 1960’s malibus. History is a strange thing, as it is usually written after the people who have lived through it are gone. We are extremely lucky that our healthy lifestyle, or maybe just plain adventurous souls are hardy enough to keep most of our pioneers alive. To those that have past our respect and RIP.
Fred Pyke was one of the first Victorian manufactures to move from Melbourne to the coast in Torquay. Fred was a craftsmen and was a highly respected board builders, with attention to detail far beyond the average.
Thanks again to Trevor for sharing his collection and preserving our surfing history!!
